Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

- Identify and evaluate economic policies, programs, and initiatives that could positively impact rural communities.
- Develop economic models and forecasts to assess the potential outcomes of various rural development interventions and policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement research projects that address specific economic issues in rural areas.
- Prepare reports, white papers, and presentations summarizing research findings and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant literature, publications, and emerging trends in rural economics to ensure the organization's knowledge base remains current.
- Provide expert guidance and advice to internal and external stakeholders on rural economic development strategies and policies.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of capacity-building programs for rural communities, aimed at enhancing their economic resilience and sustainability.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in conducting research and analysis in rural economics, preferably in an academic or applied research setting.
- Sound knowledge of economic principles, theories, and methodologies, with a specific focus on rural economies.
- Proficiency in quantitative analysis, statistical software (e.g., STATA, R, SAS), and economic modeling techniques.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex economic data and models accurately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings and recommendations effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with rural development policies, programs, and challenges at local, national, and international levels.
